O&E.G. Royal Austrian trinket dish. Imagine looking this beautiful at over 100 years old. How do I know? O&E.G. stand for Oscar and Edgar Gutherz Royal Austrian China which was made in Austria between 1898 and 1918. This is pattern is OEG7 which is one of the companies earliest works; however, with the hand written number 18 on the maker's mark one must assume this precious little piece was made in 1918. The china is thin and translucent. The white background helps to highlight the garland of dainty pink, blue, and yellow flowers encircling the turned out top scallopped edge and repeated encircling the base of the dish. The piece is small, measuring just 4 1/2" in diameter including the turned edge with a 3" in diameter opening. It is 3 1/2" tall. This piece could be used as a coaster, butter pat dish, open salt cellar or ice cream dish. In truth it must be pointed out that this beauty has a tiny little chip on the edge (see the picture of just the edge...can you see the chip?). It is not noticable but can be felt. This antique pattern is rare and expensive. My pricing reflects this small imperfection. There are no other scratches, stains, marks or repairs. It is difficult to believe this little prize is at least 101 years old! Please feel free to ask any questions you might have about this piece.
